Todd Jones, of the Columbus Dispatch, on what the BCS has done to CFB traditions:

Ohio State is playing Michigan on Saturday for the Big Ten championship and a trip to the Rose Bowl, and everyone is moping around as if going to Pasadena would be nothing more than a consolation prize, like a toaster.

That's what the BCS has done to college football.

In 2007, conference titles don't matter, and if you're not in the national championship game, neither does a trip to another bowl game, even the Rose Bowl. Everything is an exploding cigar.
