BCS back on Capitol Hill.

"Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, a BYU graduate, said the current system raises enough questions of fairness that it is in college football's best interest to fix the BCS system instead of forcing Congress to intervene."

CollegeFootballNews.com points out yet another flaw with the BCS.

"If you break down the nuts and bolts of the formula, it’s actually fair with one exception: The Quality Win. The rule states that a team that beats the number one ranked team will get 1.0 points deducted from its BCS score, while a team that beats the number ten ranked team will have 0.1 points deducted from its score. That’s all fine. Here’s the problem: 'If a team defeats a top-10 BCS team twice in one season, the victorious team shall receive quality win points only once.' Why? Either a team should get credit all year long for beating a team in the top ten and get rewarded for beating however many top teams it plays, or throw the rule out entirely and let the Strength of Schedule component be enough of a reward."
