The Final 2002 College Football Playoffs Bracket is out!

Mark Kreidler of The Sacramento Bee guesses at how an 8-team playoff would play out this year...
"It's the Fantasy Bowl, brought to you by our unceasing certainty that a playoff system is not only do-able but would be an all-around grand old time -- and, shoot, we're just getting warmed up."

Bracket delay.
Sorry, folks... bracket will be delayed a little longer. The day job is kicking my arse right now. I hope to post the final bracket later in the week... I promise it's on the way...

Pete Fiutak of CollegeFootballNews.com:
"I love how these BCS apologists are so proud of themselves. People like BCS commissioner Mike Tranghese have reasoned that one of the positive effects of the BCS is that people are talking about it. Wrong. People are talking about the BCS, but it's for the wrong reasons. People are talking about the BCS because they couldn't figure it out. People are talking about the BCS cause it's a bizarre way of figuring out which team is the best. People aren't raving about how wonderful it is. Just because Ohio State and Miami are playing for the national champion, it doesn't mean the BCS worked. Anyone, or any system, could've figured that out. The BCS should work in the same way a good football official should work. If you notice it, it's not working."

The final playoffs bracket will be released tomorrow, December 9th, around 7:00pm Eastern. Check back then to see what a real "Selection" Show would have produced (i.e. a lot more exciting and fair results than the charade ABC produced earlier today).
