The latest pile of garbage has been tossed out back of the ABC/ESPN headquarters.

You think the ABC/ESPN/NCAA suits aren't sweating the thought of a Miami loss? Not that it would make much of a difference as they would still get their nice paychecks, but I'm sure they'd rather not have to get up on TV and attempt to spin their silly computer system into sounding logical like they had to the last 2 years.

Gene Wojciechowski of ESPN Magazine puts Myles Brand in his place.

"...new NCAA president Myles Brand didn't exactly break any new ground with his recent comments regarding a D-IA playoff. Any more tepid and you'd have [a] 2-day-old dishwater.

"When USA Today asked Brand about his views on the subject, the NCAA president laced up the tap shoes and performed that bureaucratic favorite, 'Blah, blah, blah.'

"Of course, it's highly controversial; otherwise half of America's sports talk shows would be running Emergency Warning System tone during much of their broadcasts. And the survey results might be split 50-50 between the Ivory Tower crowd, but the Joe Fan numbers are probably in the, oh. . . 100-0 in-favor range."

The latest 2002 College Football Playoffs Bracket is out!

With 2 weeks left in the regular season there are several teams that still have a possibility of making the bracket. This would be a very important final 2 weeks...

So barring a miracle upset of Miami...

We will have an Ohio State/Miami Fiesta Bowl. Congratulations to OSU fans... your team is very good and definitely deserves to be in the Fiesta Bowl under the current system. That being said, this system is an absolute travesty that no other sport in the world would dream of instituting... but that is not Ohio State's fault.

A couple things for everyone to remember as they get ready for the excitement of the Miami/OSU game...

The average margin of victory in the 16 BCS bowl games to date is 15.1 points. The average margin of victory in the 4 BCS championship games has been 14.5 points. Anyone thinking this trend of blowout BCS mismatches will change this year?
