Chris Fowler answers the pro-BCS crowd.
"I am no BCS alarmist. I've learned better than to obsess about the decimal point scenarios a month before the final standings are released. But I also get bothered by this constant catch phrase: 'Well, there's a lot of football to be played and it'll all work itself out in the end.' What, like last year? And the year before?
"You know the recent history. The BCS formula spit out numbers last season that further eroded the system's credibility."

Attention Sports Illustrated readers:
If anyone else caught Sports Illustrated's error from the November 4th issue, concerning their interpretation of the BCS formula, let me know on the bulletin board. I was surprised to see that even SI doesn't clearly understand this stupid system.

Terry Bowden shills for his BCS bosses.
Guy (Springfield MA): Terry Why does the BCS have to be so complex? Why not just take the average of the 2 polls (AP/ESPN)? If there's a tie, then let the Quality Win factor - the ranking of the team's toughest opponent - be the tiebreaker.
Terry Bowden: That sounds like a good idea to me. I guess when they first tried to make the multiple poll idea better, they ended up with the system we got. The main thing is we try to have a system that wont' end up with two different national champions. It has worked well so far although we have had controversy with 2 and 3. If the two polls had the same 1 and 2, the BCS should confirm that. If they are different, there should be a system to pick the most deserving.
What a pathetic answer. He and John Saunders are the two biggest bozos on TV.

Trev Alberts slams the BCS.
"We could end up seeing a Miami-Georgia matchup in the Nokia Sugar Bowl, with the undefeated, defending national champs playing in a consolation game, and teams like NC State and Ohio State also on the outside looking in. Maybe then we could blow up the BCS and never have to hear those three letters in the same sentence again."
"Blow up," Trev? Nice. No fear.

Add Mike Fish of CNNSI.com to the Good Guys list.
"Personally, we’d love to see a half dozen schools end the season unbeaten and then listen to the Great Debate. What’s needed is an on-the-field means to settle this. Here we are saddled with 29 bowls (58 teams, sports fans) that are often nothing more than a nice getaway for the family of coaches and athletic department officials."
Exactly.

Could this finally be the year?
"All I know is, someone better lose soon or this year’s BCS proceedings are going to bring a whole new definition to the word 'chaos.'"
